ハート（マーク）は、およそ現代の人々にとって愛のシンボルとして定着しているが、反対に逆さのハートマークは魔除けのシンボルで有るということも古くから言われている。ということは、心（ハート）はいつもその向きによって誰かを引き寄せ、遠ざけていることになる。

気づかれたくない - 気づいてほしい
このままでもいい - このままじゃ嫌だ
話したくない - 話したい

これまでのハートのジュエリーの「おまじない」は、このような-で繋がれた（その両端にある）言葉や気持ちにかけられたものだった。けれど実は、この-（ハイフン）の中にこそ本当の救いやお守り（ジュエリー）が必要なのである。
なぜなら人は、ハートの向きを変えながら-を行き来して（自分や相手の心を必死に考えたり、時には遠ざけたりして）初めて誰かを思いやったり、自分を大事にすることができるからだ。
